Razorfish had an amazing script that leaned into the slice of life you get when looking through other peoples apartment windows. The main hurdle was clear…how do we shoot five rooms from the exterior of an aparmtent building in just 15 seconds?
As a commercial director, there’s nothing more I love than a technical problem. As we went over this script on our initital creative call, they of course asked for how I thought it would be best to execute this spot. I practically blurted out the words “Let’s build a miniature!” The Zoom chat exploded with hearts and thumbs ups across the board. Of course, you could just as easily do a full CG building, but I knew that a mix of pracical and CG was the best way to make this thing happen.
Rather than have you read a bunch of text for this one, I made a video breaking down the entire thing. Enjoy!
